School Profile

Economics and Management School is subordinated to Zhejiang Ocean University. The school has set up five departments including Department of Economics, Public Management Department, Business Management Department, Tourism Management Department, Logistics Management Department, and an Economics and Management Comprehensive Laboratory as well as two research institutes, namely the Institute of Marine Tourism and the Marine Economy and Management Institute.

The School focuses on the undergraduate education, also strives to develop the postgraduate courses. The School has set up six undergraduate majors including Administrative Management, Tourism Management, Marketing, Economics, Logistics Management, and Financial Management. The Administrative Management major is a key major in Zhejiang Province and the Tourism Management major is a key major of the university. The School offers two secondary master degrees in Fishing Economics and Island Development and Protection, also master of Agriculture (specialized in rural and regional development, agricultural science and technology and service field). In addition, the school offers Transportation Engineering Master degree for logistics planning and management students. Currently, the School has 1600 full time undergraduate students and 180 postgraduate students.

The School pays great attention to the international education, and actively carries out exchange programs. It has established a close cooperative relationship with universities and research institution from United States, Japan, South Korea, Russia and China's Taiwan region, sending excellent students to communicate and study overseas every year. The number of the school students participating exchange programs is on the rise in recent years, and more than 10% of the students in the school intend to study abroad.
